Q: What do you love most about your career/major?
A: The potential to work with people to help them discover something amazing and incredible about themselves and our world.
Q: When did you become inspired to partake in tech? What was your inspiration?
A: In the late 1990’s, there was a tremendous movement on the east and west coasts in the field of music technology. It made me think of how amazing it would be to combine two great loves - music and tech - and make it happen in the schools for kids.
Q: What prepared you the best for your job/major today?
A: Attitude is everything! Believe in yourself and in what you are here to do.
Q: What non-tech skill do you find most helpful/important that’s for your career?
A: Tenacity and grit!
Q: Where do you see yourself in ten years?
A: We have a lot of change coming towards us in the next years. I want to see myself being flexible and adaptable through it all and continuing my work in tech.
Q: What’s your favorite coding language?
A: I’m not a coder, but I would say C as it was the first one someone tried to teach me in a formal setting.
Q: What are some of your interests outside tech?
A: The great outdoors! Everything is better when you are out in nature. I love travel. I have been fortunate to spend time outside of the United States including Japan, Africa, India, and Europe.
Q: What are your plans for future projects?
A: Technology is all about serial mastery. For me, it’s all about the love of learning. There is stuff yet to come our way. The best way to be ready is just know how to learn, and love learning.
Q: What advice would you give a young person interested in tech now?
A: Get going! Get involved. Learn everything you can. It all starts with one step. Start with what you love to do and go from there.
